David Moyes closer to new West Ham United contract as behind-the-scenes hire completed
West Ham United manager David Moyes has moved close to a new contract at the London Stadium after completing a new behind-the-scenes hire, according to Alan Nixon.
The Sun journalist reported via his Patreon page on Sunday (10 March) that the Scotsman has taken a step closer to signing a new deal with the Hammers, after appointing his son, David Junior, as a new scout.
Moyes’ son works for top scouting agency WMG and has now begun going to matches to examine, assess and size up potential targets for the Hammers ahead of the summer transfer window.
The decision to appoint the Hammers’ boss’ son behind the scenes at the London Stadium serves as an indication that Moyes intends to extend his stay with the Irons beyond the end of the season.
Will David Moyes sign a new contract with West Ham United?
Moyes’ long-term future beyond the end of the season at the London Stadium has been the subject of plenty of discussion over the last few months as the Scotsman nears the end of his current deal with West Ham.
The 60-year-old had confirmed that he had been offered a new contract by the Irons but had insisted that he wouldn’t make a final decision over his future until the end of the season as he continues to assess his options.

However, the new appointment of his son as a scout all but confirms that he is already looking ahead to next season as he begins to analyse and identify targets for the summer transfer window, which would only matter if he was still in charge.
Supporters will more than likely be divided over this update as Moyes has proven to be a rather divisive figure throughout his time at the London Stadium, but hopefully, some clarity will emerge from the club itself in the coming days.
