David Moyes backs ‘brilliant’ West Ham players to finish season strong
David Moyes has backed his West Ham players to finish the season strongly despite not signing any players in January.
The Hammers failed to add to their squad in the window despite being “very serious” in trying to do so.
The Scot believes his players can maintain the levels they have shown him in the past two years as his side look to end the season on a high.

He told West Ham: “It’d be unfair to just mention us – lots of clubs didn’t buy players in January for different reasons. We were very serious in trying to bring players in, but for different reasons, it didn’t happen.
“The squad I’ve had at the moment has done a brilliant job in the last two years and I have no reason to think they wouldn’t do a brilliant job in the final months of the season.”

A lot of clubs did fail to sign players in January, that is very true, but none needed reinforcements as much as the Hammers did.
You could have this conversation until you are blue in the face. The club seriously failed the fans in the transfer window and hopefully it doesn’t prove too fatal.

At the end of the day, the players currently in the squad can only give their best from now until the end of the season and they will go down as hero’s no matter how the season ends.
This has been a rollercoaster of a term for the Irons but there will always be that little thought of what could have been if some players were signed in January.
A huge summer awaits the club, and it is so important to learn from the mistakes of the last transfer window.
Plan ahead, move early and go and get the players that will help take this team to the next level next season.
In other West Ham news, a timeframe has been mooted for Angelo Ogbonna’s return.
