David James impressed that West Ham managed to sign Kurt Zouma

David James has revealed how impressed he is that West Ham have signed Kurt Zouma from Chelsea.

Speaking to Sky Sports News, the former England international revealed that he thinks the 26-year-old was the Irons’ best signing of the transfer window.

He thinks Zouma will sure up the Hammers’ back line because they have conceded five goals in their opening three league games despite scoring ten [Sky Sports News 31/08/2021 via Football.London].

He said: “I think Kurt Zouma is the best signing.

“West Ham are scoring goals, but they’re conceding goals. In the three games, as much as they’ve been exciting to watch, they’ve let in a few, and defences are key.

“They’re not the ultimate decider on whether you win the league as goalscoring usually decides that.

“West Ham are doing that but conceding too many. So, Zouma coming in, tightening up the defence, Vlasic coming in and giving them more creativity, I think it’s looking good for David Moyes and West Ham.”

Zouma is a strong signing.

The French international arrives at the London Stadium with bags of Premier League experience.

He has been in England since January 2014 and could prove to be the ideal addition to the Hammers’ backline.

So, it is no wonder that James was waxing lyrical about the Frenchman’s arrival, and we can’t wait to see him in action for the Irons.

Zouma was also described as “brilliant” by Frank Lampard last season [Goal].

Now, David Moyes has a decision to make, and though Craig Dawson has done well, we wouldn’t be shocked to see him come out of the team for Zouma in the coming games.

Certainly, pairing him with Angelo Ogbonna, who is arguably West Ham’s best defender, should improve things at the back as the season progresses.
