David Gold heaps praise on one man after West Ham v Bournemouth

West Ham United co-owner David Gold has singled out one Hammers man for praise after Wednesday’s thrilling victory over Bournemouth.

The east London outfit found a much-needed performance of the highest quality to ease past the struggling Cherries 4-0 at the London Stadium.

Captain Mark Noble led the way on the pitch with a fine brace, while club record signing Sebastien Haller and the rejuvenated Felipe Anderson also got on the scoresheet.

But it was the new man in the dugout who really impressed Mr. Gold.

“It was a brilliant effort by them all and although David has only been here a couple of days and has had little chance to get his ideas across yet, you have to give him credit for making an immediate impact,” he told Claret & Hugh.

“This was the perfect start for him and the fans. And let’s be honest it was all an incredible relief for everybody associated with West Ham.

“We have tough fixtures ahead but I believe we will all be looking forward with more confidence after that performance.”

This West Ham display was unrecognisable compared to the dirge offered up by the players under Manuel Pellegrini for much of the season.

The result leaves the east London outfit in 16th place in the Premier League, but with the chance to jump as high as 11th if they win their game in hand.

In other West Ham news, the club have reportedly been offered the chance to sign a Premier League star who is out on loan in Azerbaijan.
