Darren Bent and Andy Goldstein in agreement over West Ham United and Everton ‘bigger’ club debate live on talkSPORT

Darren Bent and Andy Goldstein agreed live on talkSPORT that Everton are a “bigger” club than West Ham United.

The duo were discussing the level that Toffees boss Sean Dyche deserves to manage at after guiding the club to four successive league wins.

Everton have risen to 16th place in the table after defeating Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, Chelsea and Burnley.

Discussing where Dyche could move to next, Goldstein asked the question live on talkSPORT (19 December): “Are you saying his next level should be like a West Ham?”

Bent replied: “West Ham are decent though,” with Goldstein asking: “Everton are bigger than West Ham, right?” Bent responded: “Yeah you’d say so,” with Goldstein replying: “Yeah, so it’s a step down.”

Bent then stated: “I always look at those two clubs in the same type of bracket, but yeah Everton are bigger I think, they’ve won league titles.” Goldstein concluded: “Yeah of course, they are.”

Debate to be had?

West Ham supporters certainly won’t want to hear the debate regarding their beloved club and one of their Premier League rivals.

Hammers fans will undoubtedly point to the fact that they sit well above Everton in the Premier League table at this moment in time, with David Moyes’s side currently in eighth place.

The manager does, of course, know more about the two clubs than most, having managed at Goodison Park for many years.

The London Stadium club are also flying high in the Europa League, and remain in the League Cup, where they take on Liverpool in the quarter-finals on Wednesday (20 December).

After impressing in the competition, Everton have gone crashing out at the same stage, losing to Fulham on penalties after a 1-1 draw on Tuesday (19 December).

Both the Toffees and the Hammers have had their highs and lows over the years, with fans of the clubs desperate for more highlights in the months to come.

In other West Ham news, Daniel Sturridge and Roy Keane were in agreement over an incident in the recent match against Wolves, with a “WWE” verdict shared.
