Darren Bent: £75m bid for Jarrod Bowen would tempt West Ham United
TalkSPORT pundit Darren Bent believes that West Ham United could be tempted by a £75million for Jarrod Bowen this summer from Arsenal.
The Gunners have set their sights on the England international but, according to The Sun, the Hammers are set to ask for a club-record fee to allow the 25-year-old to talk to other clubs.
Bowen enjoyed his best ever season in 2021-22 with 17 goals and 13 assists for David Moyes’ side across all competitions which is what earned him the chance to play for Gareth Southgate’s three lions.

Bent though thinks that such an offer for his services would be hard to turn down at the London Stadium but admitted that he would be reluctant to spend that much himself.
“I’m not paying that, no chance,” Bent said. “Then again we paid £72million for Pepe so you know what, I’ll snap your hand off.
“You look at what the attacking options are at Arsenal I don’t see it happening. £75million will tempt West Ham and they would definitely consider that if a bid came in.”
Not a chance
There is not a hope in the world that Bowen plays his home matches at The Emirates Stadium this season because Arsenal simply do not have the bottle to pay that no matter how much they might try to make you believe otherwise.

Their last signing of that magnitude, as Bent eluded to, went incredibly badly and they now want to get rid of Pepe for a fraction of his price and they will not want a repeat of that.
Of course, Bowen is a far better player than the Ivorian and knows the Premier League already so he would go and improve their side but that is only if he goes and starts which wouldn’t necessarily be a guarantee.
Bukayo Saka is the golden boy of Arsenal and features predominantly from the same right-wing the West Ham ace calls home.
He would be mental to leave the London Stadium right now with the club on the up and consistently challenging in Europe which is far more than can be said for other clubs and even Arsenal weren’t in continental competition last season.
