Dan Plumley: West Ham United set for commercial and operation win-win after major development this week

We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at West Ham...

Dan Plumley has insisted that West Ham United can make real gains after confirming a new partnership with Elmo Webexpenses over the past week.

The Finance Expert admitted that the benefits will be ten-fold and will improve the commercial and operational side of the business at the London Stadium.

The Hammers now have an Official Expense Management Software Supplier, with operations now being streamlined – something that is described as a good win all-round for the club.

“You’ve got the commercial side of it and the operational side of it, and the benefits it brings with you,” he exclusively told West Ham Zone.

“Also, if we’re talking about expense management, then you’ve got potentially cost-saving coming into that. You’ve got real costs in terms of money and also resource cost, time, energy and everything that goes into the mix.

“When you put all of that together and the world we’re in now with cyber security and data management being really important, you can really make some gains in that space if you streamline your operations and bring in companies to help you, it seems on this one a good win all-round for West Ham from a financial and operational perspective.”

Smart.

These are the kind of deals and partnerships that always go under the radar at football clubs.

Fans won’t pay much attention to what happens behind the scenes, but football is a business at the end of the day, and these deals can help improve everything.

With Elmo Webexpenses now linked to the club, operations are expected to be more streamlined and hopefully, that can lead to more cost-saving and ultimately open more doors than were opened before.

Plumley also touched on the cyber security and data management parts, something that isn’t really thought about but in the modern day can be so beneficial.

West Ham United are playing it smart and with GSBK at the helm, it looks as though they’re ticking most of the boxes right now both on and off the pitch.
