Cundy and O’Hara in stitches as ‘silly’ West Ham jibe aimed at David Sullivan
Jason Cundy and Jamie O’Hara were in stitches after what they heard about West Ham owner David Sullivan on talkSPORT.
The pundits were discussing the Irons’ ongoing problems when a fan named Andrew phoned in and cited Sullivan as the club’s “problem”.
Andrew hit out at Sullivan for “embarrassing” David Moyes by retracting a contract offer [David Ornstein via NBC Sports Soccer] before taking a jibe at his Russian hat.
“He embarrassed that man [Moyes], that’s the man running this club”, the fan said on talkSPORT [21 November].
“That’s why we’ll never be taken seriously while he’s sitting there with his silly little hat on.”
O’Hara thought the remark on the hit was harsh, saying: “It’s a bit harsh, the silly little hat. It’s cold, mate.”
Andrew, though, was having none of it and replied: “I’ll tell you what he needs to do, he needs to disappear underneath it.”
The quick-witted reply from the Hammers fan left both the pundits in stitches, with Cundy saying: “He’s going to be thankful for that hat. I think you’ll see more and more of that hat.”

It is understandable if the East London outfit wanted to bring a more attractive brand of football to the club and replaced Moyes because of it.
However, there is no doubt that it was disrespectful to offer the Scottish tactician a new deal and then rescind the proposal.
Some may feel the Hammers are getting what they deserved for what they did to Moyes as they sit 14th in the Premier League under Julen Lopetegui after 11 games.

Results against Newcastle and Arsenal on 25 and 30 November will now determine Lopetegui’s future at the London Stadium, as per The Guardian.
It remains to be seen if the former Sevilla manager can do enough to buy himself some more time, although West Ham have begun the hunt for a new manager.
In other West Ham news, the Irons continue to be linked with a move for French superstar Paul Pogba.
