
Crystal Palace v West Ham latest as key player now likely to miss out
West Ham United have received a boost ahead of their match against Crystal Palace as Marc Guehi is unlikely to be involved, according to the Daily Mail.
Writing on their website [22 August], the outlet reported that Oliver Glasner like likely to be without his leading centre-back for the match against the Hammers, even if a move to Newcastle United has not gone through by then.
Lopetegui lost his first match in charge of the Irons 2-1 to Aston Villa on the opening day of the 2024/25 Premier League season and will be looking for his first three points against Crystal Palace on Saturday (24 August).

The performance against Aston Villa was an underwhelming start to life in East London for Lopetegui but he is now in a strong position to rectify the loss against a weakened Crystal Palace side.
Oliver Glasner has already lost Michael Olise to Bayern Munich this summer and is now set to be without his preferred centre-back partnership, with Newcastle’s prolonged pursuit of Guehi close to a conclusion and Joachim Andersen awaiting confirmation of a move to Fulham [BBC Sport, 21 August].
West Ham will be expected to leave Selhurst Park with at least a point this weekend. If they do so it will help kick-start their campaign ahead of the first international break.

Lopetegui will be expected to introduce more of this summer’s signings into the first team to mark the new era at the London Stadium.
