Crysencio Summerville sends message as new contract announced away from West Ham

Crysencio Summerville has shared his delight with Ryan Gravenberch’s new contract at Liverpool.

Summerville has burst onto the scene for West Ham after a string of impressive performances, capped off by his winning goal against Fulham last time out.

Despite initially struggling to find his feet following his move from Leeds United, he has excelled under Nuno Espirito Santo and breathed new life into the Hammers’ survival bid.

Another man for the big occasion is Gravenberch, who has stepped up to the plate for the top-flight champions this season even after the collapse of their title defence.

Crysencio Summerville sends message to Ryan Gravenberch

Midfielder Gravenberch’s new deal at Anfield was officially announced on Liverpool’s Instagram page on Saturday, and Summerville was quick to react.

Congratulating his Dutch compatriot, he wrote: “Gravie” alongside heart and clapping emojis.

Summerville has regularly interacted with Gravenberch on social media, showcasing their blossoming friendship off the pitch, and both share a knack for the spectacular.

Indeed, the West Ham ace has been crucial in the relegation fightback at the London Stadium, with a recent resurgence handing them a much-needed lifeline.

With nine goal involvements in 2026 for Summerville, the £25million man has caught the eye with his mazy dribbling and end product, easing the burden on Jarrod Bowen.

He has now managed more goals in his last 10 club appearances (seven) than he did in his first 38 (one), and soon, he could be rewarded on the international stage.

Summerville offered chance of a lifetime

Surprisingly, Summerville has never been capped by the Netherlands at senior level, despite featuring for his nation’s Under 21, U19, U18, U17 and U16s.

His lack of consistency for Leeds and West Ham has failed to convince multiple Netherlands managers to take a punt on him, with Ronald Koeman the latest to overlook him.

But his latest form will put him back on the radar, and he must continue in a similar vein until the end of the season to stay in contention. West Ham would certainly reap the rewards.

A senior call-up would see him play alongside Gravenberch, but there could yet be a twist.

Indeed, Suriname are said to be hopeful of convincing Summerville to switch his international allegiance to them as they look to qualify for this summer’s World Cup.

Whether he will be tempted by the offer remains to be seen.
