Crysencio Summerville decision made ahead of West Ham United v Manchester United

Crysencio Summerville is expected to start for West Ham in place of Mohammed Kudus against Manchester United on Sunday 27 October, according to the Daily Mirror.

The newspaper reported in its print edition [26 October, pg 65] that the £25million signing from Leeds United is likely to get his opportunity from the start following Kudus’ late red card at Tottenham.

Julen Lopetegui has kept his cards close to his chest regarding team selection but emphasises the opportunity available to the player who replaces the absent Kudus.

The head coach said: “I’m sure the player who takes Kudus’ place is going to do well.

“Sometimes a problem is an opportunity.”

Crysencio Summerville to start for West Ham?

Summerville has had to be patient with chances at West Ham United since his arrival, having only started one Premier League game so far, against Chelsea on 21 September.

He was hooked after 54 minutes of that game and featured for the final half-an-hour with the Irons having surrendered a three-goal lead at Tottenham.

Kudus’ regular place in the side is now under major threat with the news the Ghanaian will miss the next three, and with Manchester United next up, the platform for Summerville is potentially huge.

The Dutchman has moved to the Premier League in a bid to become a fully-fledged international and to showcase his superb ability consistently at the top level, having excelled for Leeds United last campaign.

And Hammers fans will be sure to have his back and regain the belief that Tim Steidten’s summer spree can come to some fruition.
