Cristiano Ronaldo transfer: West Ham United could be tempted to sign new teammate Vincent Aboubakar

West Ham United could be tempted to pursue a move for Al Nassr striker Vincent Aboubakar, according to Hammers’ insider, ExWHUemployee.

The Hammers have previously been linked with the 30-year-old (17 February, Kick442) and it’s believed his future at Al Nassr could be in doubt after the huge arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo.

ExWHUemployee has suggested, in his latest transfer update (5 January), Aboubakar has a number of suitors and that he could be allowed to leave the Saudi Arabian club.

West Ham

“There is another African forward who has been eternally linked with the club in the past, Vincent Aboubakar, whose future is under question at his current club Al Nassr after the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo,” wrote the reliable West Ham source.

“He has a number of suitors and there is talk that the Saudi team are prepared to let him leave on loan or a free which could tempt us. West Ham are not said to be one of the front runners at this point, however.”

Move on

A 30-year-old striker who has been playing in the Middle East won’t solve West Ham’s current problems. Furthermore, another frontman is probably not at the top of Moyes’ wishlist at the moment.

Gianluca Scamacca put in an impressive performance against Leeds and scored a sensational goal to give the Irons the lead. Consistency has been an issue for the 24-year-old, but when he’s on form, he looks like a top player.

Therefore, it’s hard to envisage another striker coming to the club unless they’re going to provide serious competition for the Italian. Michail Antonio has been making an impact from the bench of late and could also play his way back into contention in the second half of the season.

West Ham

Other areas of Moyes’ squad should be the priority with a right back probably top of the list. Thilo Kehrer has had to play out of position since his arrival from PSG and the German international is far better suited to a more central role.

Only once the Scot has rectified his full-back issue should he then turn his attention to potential attacking improvements at the London Stadium.
