Cristiano Giaretta confirms Watford open to letting West Ham target Ismaila Sarr leave
Watford sporting director Cristiano Giaretta has revealed that West Ham target Ismaila Sarr will be allowed to leave the club if a sizeable offer arrives.
The Hammers have been in the market to sign a winger after the departure of Andriy Yarmolenko.
Giaretta, while talking to Watford Observer, revealed that the young winger is eager to leave Watford but the club will be more than happy to keep the player if the club’s valuation has not been met.

“It’s highly likely that if they [Sarr and Dennis] are here when the season starts, they will be available for first-team games if Rob chooses to select them,” he said.
“They would like to leave and have been looking at potential moves, but they are not causing us any problems. They are not banging on our door to get away as soon as they can.
“They will stay at the club if the market doesn’t deliver something we think is acceptable, in the same way Sarr stayed with us the last time we were in the Championship.”
Sarr has been on the lips of all Watford fans since he stunned the Premier League world with his brace against Liverpool in the 2019-20 season.
The Senegal international was instrumental in ending the unbeaten Premier League season of Jurgen Klopp’s men with two goals at the Vicarage Road.
Sarr is an athletic winger, known for his physical nature and the ability to bully the opposing defenders with his blistering pace, something which is extremely valuable for any team in a league competition like Premier League.

In the 2021-22 season, the 24-year-old scored five goals and provided two assists in 22 Premier League appearances [Transfermarkt].
Those numbers might not look great from the outset but if it considered that he was a part of the team that was relegated to the second division then those numbers become more than impressive considering he missed nearly half of the matches due to fitness concerns.
Therefore, those words will be a great source of hope for West Ham fans and they will be hoping that David Moyes will get the deal done as soon as possible.
