Craig Dawson transfer situation ‘unsettling’ for West Ham United – Journalist

David Moyes confirmed in his latest press conference that West Ham United have rejected a bid from Wolves, and the Hammers boss was far from happy with the situation.

The Atheltic journalist Steve Madeley has shared on Twitter that he is “struggling” to understand the reason behind Moyes’ fury as bids and negotiations are part of the transfer window.

Madeley shares that Dawson wanted to leave in the summer, and he wants to leave now again, which is “unsettling” for both Moyes and West Ham.

“Struggling to see any justification for this fury. Bids and negotiations are what happens during transfer windows and the fixtures schedule is beyond either club’s control,” wrote Madeley on Twitter.

He added in a separate tweet: “Dawson wanted the move in the summer so I imagine he wants it again now. I’m sure that’s unsettling for Moyes and West Ham, which is unfortunate for them, but it’s the nature of the beast.”

It feels like Dawson will leave the Hammers at some point during the transfer window.

The 32-year-old wants to stay close to his family, and he has a house in the Midlands.

He wanted to leave in the summer, but Moyes persuaded him to stay. However, with Wolves lurking again, probably the club would struggle to keep him.

Moyes is venting his frustration here. In transfer windows, it is quite natural that the club make approach for any player, and that’s how the system works.

West Ham

West Ham are within their rights to reject an offer, but how long can they keep Dawson is a big question. He has only a few months left on his current deal, but the Hammers don’t want to sell him unless they find a replacement.

The veteran defender has been outstanding for the player. He was one of the most consistent performers last season and played a crucial role when the likes of Kurt Zouma and Angelo Ogbonna got injured.

This season, he started in eight Premier League games for the club.

Moyes does have plenty of options with him. He has Nayef Aguerd, Thilo Kehrer, Zouma, and Ogbonna as other options, and can afford to let Dawson move elsewhere.
