Craig Dawson ‘certain’ to stay at West Ham United until end of 2022/23 season
Craig Dawson looks “certain” to remain at West Ham United until the end of the 2022/23 season, according to Claret and Hugh.
The Daily Express’ Ryan Taylor had suggested that there was a “good chance” of the 32-year-old leaving the London Stadium in the January window (GIVEMESPORT, 18 December).
However, it’s been reported (Claret and Hugh, 22 December) that Dawson is to stay till the end of the season after Nayef Aguerd’s injury and Kurt Zouma undergoing knee surgery.

Good call
Considering the injuries which currently plague the Hammers defensively, it makes sense for Dawson to hang around a little while longer. He has been a dependable player for David Moyes since his arrival at the London Stadium, and can certainly be trusted to do a job when called upon.
It’s a tough restart to the Premier League season for the Hammers with a trip to league leaders Arsenal on the horizon for the Irons. West Ham desperately need to start picking up points in January to pull themselves away from the bottom three. Five points currently separate Wolves in 20th and Leeds in 15th, which demonstrates the number of teams who could potentially be sucked into the relegation scrap.

Moyes will be looking to the likes of Gianluca Scamacca and Lucas Paqueta to really find their feet in the Premier League to propel his side back up the table.
Challenging for the top six was the aim at the start of the season and there’s no reason why the Irons can’t look for a top-half finish come May.
