Confirmed: Lingard and Benrahma back in West Ham XI to face Arsenal
David Moyes has made two changes to the West Ham starting line-up ahead of playing Arsenal at the London Stadium on Sunday.
The Hammers were defeated 1-0 by Manchester United at Old Trafford in a sub-par display last time out. Moyes has responded by dropping Mark Noble and Ben Johnson and in come Jesse Lingard and Said Benrahma, as the Irons look to take the game to Arsenal.
West Ham confirmed the team news via their official Twitter account an hour ahead of kick-off at the London Stadium.
Lingard will be keen to make an impact today. He was ineligible to play against parent club United last weekend and will provide a huge boost for the squad. Back in the national fold with England this week, we expect him to be well up for the clash today.
Arsenal have won four of their last five matches in all competitions. Wins against Leicester and Spurs recently will have the Gunners feeling confident on their visit to the London Stadium. They won the reverse fixture 2-1 in September.
Elsewhere for West Ham, Lukasz Fabianski keeps his place in the team. He was excellent last weekend and will be keen to keep a clean sheet against his former club Arsenal.
It’s good to see us revert to a back four. Coufal, Dawson, Diop and Cresswell all played last week and will need to be on top form to deal with the Gunners today.
This has allowed us to bring back our attacking trio of Lingard, Bowen and Benrahma. It’s a very exciting XI from Moyes, and the perfect response to our poor showing last week.
Come on you Irons!
