Cole Palmer raves about West Ham United player after what he’s seen
Chelsea ace Cole Palmer believes West Ham United star Mohammed Kudus is one of the most skilful players in the Premier League.
The 24-year-old has endured a stop-start season and has been linked with a move away from the London Stadium all season, but he is now starting to find his feet under new boss Graham Potter.
So much so that Chelsea main man Palmer – as shared by Sky Sports Premier League on X (25 January, 9:01am) – ranked Kudus among the most skilful players in the league and was asked what he likes about the Irons forward.
“Everything. He’s fast, strong, technically good. Yeah, I think he’s a very, very, very good player.”
Mohammed Kudus needs to step up for West Ham United
There is no doubt how talented Kudus is with the ball at his feet, but he has been unable to replicate his stellar form this term.
Indeed, the campaign has not panned out as hoped – the Irons are lingering in the bottom half of the table after ex-boss Julen Lopetegui was dismissed.
However, Kudus has struggled not only with form this term but also with disciplinary issues. The prime example is his three-match ban for violent conduct imposed by the FA after the 4-1 loss against Tottenham on 19 October.
West Ham need Kudus now more than ever. With Niclas Fullkrug, Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen on the sidelines, he is one of the few options remaining to lead the front line.
His ability to take on his defender and beat him is among the best of the current Hammers squad, and Potter knows he will lean heavily on Kudus’ creativity to light the spark at the London Stadium.
Kudus must put his “unacceptable” behaviour behind him and focus on becoming the leading man for the Irons.
In other West Ham news, a Irons transfer update emerges on Ezechiel Banzuzi as a deadline-busting deal is eyed.
