Claret and Hugh: West Ham United ‘could get call anytime’ to move in for Chelsea striker Armando Broja

West Ham “could get a call anytime” to move in on a deal for their number one striker target Armando Broja according to Claret and Hugh.

Sky Sports reported on 21 June that West Ham were set to bid £30million for the 20-year-old striker.

It has now been reported by club website Claret & Hugh on Friday 24 June that talks are ongoing, with the Hammers waiting for a green light to move in for the striker.

The website wrote: “Having brought in Nayef Aguerd at central defence Moyes is allegedly focused on the front line position with Broja preferred apparently to the other option named through the media.

“Our insider told us that we are having lots of talks through agents and could get a call at any time to move in.”

West Ham United’s striker problems really don’t need any more documentation or publicity.

We all know that Michail Antonio was brutally overused at times last season and that there simply has to be more centre-forward options come through the door at the London Stadium.

Broja does fit the bill for the type of striker who could be a long-term solution to the Hammers’ striking problems.

He’s still young so could develop and has also proven himself at Premier League level whilst on loan at Southampton in the 2021/22 season.

However, if this transfer saga is prolonged then Moyes shouldn’t wait around for the striker and risk missing out on some of his other targets.

It is crucial that the West Ham boss doesn’t just bring a lot of signings to the London Stadium for the sake of it, they must be quality.

Broja would be an expensive signing but certainly a risk that Moyes should consider taking given the Hammers’ striking situation at present.
