Claret and Hugh shares whether David Moyes will be sacked if West Ham United lose to Nottingham Forest

David Moyes will not be sacked even if West Ham lose to Nottingham Forest on Sunday (12 November), according to Claret and Hugh.

The Hammers insider posted on its website on Tuesday (7 November) that a key source has revealed that the Scotsman will “still be in position” if the club suffers defeat against Forest because it’s not an “easy game”.

It added that the Irons need “two win wins” this week as the pressure is building on the 60-year-old ahead of the Europa League fixture against Olympiacos on Thursday (9 November).

No rash decisions

There won’t be any rash decisions made by the West Ham hierarchy because they will be willing to give Moyes time to turn things around after the success he’s had at the club.

But he will be the first one to recognise that the results haven’t been good enough and will be desperate to get his side back on track, as he has successfully achieved previously in similar moments.

The Scot’s success has ramped up the expectation levels at the London Stadium, though, and the board will be keen to ensure that the progress made over the past few years doesn’t stall.

The Hammers have a couple of games coming up that they would expect to win over the next couple of weeks, so there are no excuses to not be picking up victories.

It’s unclear exactly what will be expected during that time, but at least a couple of wins and performances to show that things can start to move in the right direction again could be the minimum requirement.

In other West Ham news, Martin Keown has raged at a “criminal” incident involving a Hammers player against Brentford.
