‘CL beckons’ – West Ham Super Fans predict scoreline v Leeds

This is part of a regular series from our panel of West Ham Super Fans. Each week, our Super Fans will deliver their verdicts on the biggest talking points and news stories around the London Stadium.

West Ham welcome Leeds to East London on Monday night as they aim to keep themselves in the hunt for a top-four finish in the Premier League.

Fourth-placed Chelsea play fifth-placed Everton earlier on Monday so it’s unlikely that West Ham, currently in sixth, will be able to return to the Champions League places.

However, to stay within touching distance and separate themselves from Liverpool, who lost to Fulham on Sunday, would be absolutely massive.

West Ham beat Leeds earlier this season at Elland Road when Tomas Soucek and Angelo Ogbonna netted in each half.

And our panel of Super Fans predict there’ll be a similar outcome when they play Marcelo Bielsa’s inconsistent side this weekend with all of them saying David Moyes’ men will win.

Leeds are not a team to underestimate because when they’re at their best, they can be very tough to beat and can put up a fight against most teams in the Premier League.

The Yorkshire club is very unpredictable and haven’t gone more than two matches with the same result this season. Leeds’ last six matches in the Premier League have seen them win twice and lose four times.

West Ham, on the other hand, will be wanting to bounce back from their narrow defeat away to runaway league leaders Manchester City last weekend.

It was a valiant effort by the Irons, who definitely deserved to return to Stratford with a point to their name.

Hopefully they can get away from that disappointment by beating Leeds on Mondy and based on how the teams are playing lately, and the fact the Irons won away in Yorkshire, we’re going to also predict a win for Moyes’ men.

In other West Ham news, Frank McAvennie has also shared his pre-match prediction.
