Chris Sutton admits West Ham United fans could turn against David Moyes after poor form
Chris Sutton believes David Moyes’ relationship with the West Ham United fanbase could turn “ugly” if they lose to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Saturday, 25 February.
The Hammers once again failed to meet expectations in their 2-0 loss to Spurs, with Moyes’ side currently sitting 18th in the Premier League and just two points above bottom-placed Southampton.
Speaking on the 606 Football Phone In (Sunday, 20 February), Sutton questioned how long the West Ham faithful would stick behind Moyes and predicted things could take a turn for the worse with a defeat at the London Stadium against Steve Cooper’s side.

He said: “Their next game is against Nottingham Forest at home and I’ve got to say if David Moyes loses that game, then I think he is going to be under serious pressure because I think, we have both said many times, it’s the fans that get the manager sacked.
“I suspect if they lost to Nottingham Forest, it could turn slightly ugly.”

No alternative
What reception Moyes will get at the London Stadium this weekend is still unclear, with much of the fanbase rightly divided in their opinions of the Scottish manager.
Although the football has been pretty dreadful all season long, and the side aren’t living up to their billing, the main question is, what other alternatives have they got?
Fans would have already seen the struggles that both Leeds United and Southampton have gone through in trying to get a new manager through the doors at this late stage of the season, with few top targets wanting to risk relegation on their CV.
If Moyes were to get the sack, who could come into the club and do a better job? There are few options available at this stage of the season, let alone managers who would want to manage at the London Stadium and fit the bill for the club’s hierarchy.
It’s tough to watch some of the football on display, but Moyes is the best option the club have.
