Chelsea transfer news as approach made for Arsenal attacker Emile Smith Rowe amid West Ham United links

Chelsea have made an approach for Arsenal attacker Emile Smith Rowe who’s been linked with a move to West Ham, according to the Daily Mail.

The English newspaper reported in its print edition on Wednesday (30 August, Page 64) that the Gunners have turned down the Blues’ approach for the 24-year-old.

The Englishman himself has reservations over moving to Stamford Bridge despite his lack of first-team minutes for the runners-up last season.

Worth considering?

Smith Rowe may not want Chelsea but he could be open to a move to West Ham as the chances of him playing regularly are higher at the London Stadium.

Chelsea have already spent a billion under the new ownership and will continue to spend more before the window shuts.

The 24-year-old knows that he could find it as hard to break into the first XI at the Bridge as he does at the Emirates.

West Ham

David Moyes, if he signs Smith Rowe can feature him regularly on the left flank and this could be a signing that makes sense for the Hammers.

With less than 12 years left on his deal, there is a deal to be done if there is willingness on the player’s end to make the move.

It also remains to be seen if the Hammers still retain an interest in the Arsenal man as they’ve signed other players over the past few weeks.

In other West Ham news, the club have now opened advanced talks with a Premier League player who appears to be open to leaving his side this summer.
