Carlton Cole raves about West Ham young talent Armstrong Okoflex

West Ham lost 1-0 against Liverpool in their last Premier League game on Saturday at Anfield (5 March).

Despite missing Declan Rice, and later Jarrod Bowen in the second half, the Hammers fought really well against Jurgen Klopp’s side, and on another day, they could have won the game as well.

Carlton Cole has suggested that he wants David Moyes to give a chance to young Armstrong Okoflex in the senior team.

West Ham

Cole said to BBC’s Football Daily Podcast: “I was properly screaming at the TV because I just want them to do well.

“I would love to see Armstrong Okoflex, he’s been a revelation in the Under-23s this year.

“He’s got 17 goals in all competitions this season. He’s a goal scorer and I would have loved to see him come off the bench.”

Huge potential

Cole is probably right here.

Okoflex is enjoying a phenomenal season in the Under23s and he deserves a chance for the senior side.

Moyes is known to be a manager who is not shy of giving chances to young talents. He signed the youngster from Celtic and he has been progressing smoothly.

It is baffling why he hasn’t been given enough game time for the senior squad. Moyes could have easily brought him in the second half when the Hammers were in dire need of a goal.

West Ham

According to a report from The Atheltic, the Hammers knocked back approaches from several clubs in the January window for the exciting striker.

Clubs in the Championship and in Scotland made enquiries to sign the 20-year-old who has struggled to work his way into the senior team.

He looks a huge talent though, and hopefully, Moyes will integrate him into the senior side in the near future.
