BT Sport pundit slams West Ham defender Thilo Kehrer in Premier League defeat v Arsenal

Efan Ekoku slammed West Ham defender Thilo Kehrer for easily allowing Arsenal attacker Eddie Nketiah to turn and find the back of the net.

With the game on a knife’s edge, Kehrer gave the Gunners an opportunity to put some daylight between the visitors and that’s precisely what they did.

They ended up beating the Hammers 3-1, putting added pressure on David Moyes as his side are very close to the relegation zone.

Speaking on the Premier League world feed, Ekoko, a BT Sport pundit, said [26/12, 21:33], “That was terrible really. Low-grade defending as Nketiah just eased past him.”

Shambolic

We will be really surprised if the 26-year-old does not look at this video at least 50 times to see what he did wrong and how he can avoid it in the future.

This was no way to get beaten by a player that’s not even an established first-team regular and was already having a pretty sub-par game.

He gave him the opportunity to use him as support to create an angle with nobody blocking his shot on goal and he made no mistake in finding the back of the net.

Moyes will certainly not have been impressed with this moment as well as Lukasz Fabianski’s effort to stop Gabriel Martinelli’s effort.

It’s back to the drawing board for him now and he needs to know that there are certain players that just do not deserve to be picked.

If he’s unwilling to make the harsh calls and axe the under-performing players, it could be his job at West Ham that’ll be on the firing line sooner or later.
