Britney Spears bizarrely shares West Ham United fan footage on Instagram, Andy Carroll reacts
Britney Spears has bizarrely shared footage on social media of West Ham fans fighting in their Europa Conference League game against AZ Alkmaar last season.
The American singer posted the video on her Instagram page on Sunday (14 April), showing Hammers supporters involved in a scuffle after being attacked by a group of the Dutch club’s fans.
She wrote in the caption that “life’s too short” and “violence is never the answer”, with former Irons forward Andy Carroll liking the post.
Britney Spears post about West Ham comes out of nowhere
There are so many questions and so few answers about where on earth this Britney post came from more than nine months after the incident took place.
She has a point about violence not being the answer, particularly when it comes to football, but it certainly isn’t what many people will have expected to see her post about today.
It was quite an unsavoury incident that took place as a group of West Ham fans – and some of the players’ families – were set upon by AZ supporters.

The situation actually received quite a lot of attention at the time as the footage spread around social media like wildfire.
It isn’t the kind of thing we should be seeing at a football match, though, as 43 of the Dutch side’s so-called fans were handed banning orders following their antics in the Europa Conference League fixture.
