Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo was West Ham United target in August 2022 amid Arsenal and Chelsea links
West Ham fans will be fuming at the board for not attempting to sign Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo when his price was not inflated.
This January window, both Chelsea and Arsenal were red hot on the heels of the Ecuadorian who the Seagulls did not end up selling.
Despite the midfielder going on social media to post about wanting to leave the club in a record move, Brighton held on to their prized asset.

According to the Daily Mail [2 February], he is valued at a staggering £80million+ fee and neither of the interested London clubs could match that valuation.
However, this comes after he’s had a good start to the season and the Hammers will regret not signing him before the season began.
The Sunday Mirror reported on 14 August 2022 (page 76) that the Seagulls could expect an excellent return if they do end up selling him.
They signed him for £4.5million from Independiente del Valle in February 2021 and even if the Hammers paid five times his price, they would’ve gotten a very good deal for him.

Rather than dealing with Tomas Soucek for a full season, if Caicedo agreed on a move, West Ham fans would have him playing week in and week out for them.
Now, it seems like he’s going to join the super-rich sides in the country with Chelsea and Arsenal understood to be the favourites.
The Hammers need to get a scouting network like Brihgton’s and perhaps even a manager that’s willing to take the punt on young talent.
