Brazil national team doctor to visit West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta ahead of World Cup

Brazil national team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar is set to travel to England and visit West Ham United to assess the fitness of Lucas Paqueta.

The 25-year-old is currently sidelined with a shoulder injury, however, it’s understood (Claret and Hugh, 20 October) he could feature in the Hammers’ next Premier League fixture against Bournemouth.

UOL Sport report (20 October) that Brazil boss Tite is not taking any chances when it comes to Paqueta and is sending Lasmar to England at the start of November to make a decision on the West Ham man and Tottenham striker Richarlison, who has suffered a calf injury.

West Ham

Should be fit

It appears that Paqueta’s injury isn’t as bad as first feared, with the Brazilian now reportedly in contention for West Ham’s next match against Bournemouth. This will come as big news to David Moyes, particularly with that attacking midfielder starting to find his feet at the London Stadium.

Paqueta would have been fearing the worst with the World Cup fast approaching and Brazil among the favourites to lift the trophy in Qatar. The Hammers will be hoping he returns home fit and firing for the remainder of their Premier League campaign.

West Ham

With so many games in such a short period of time, it’s essential the club manage the workload of players who are travelling to Qatar in the correct manner.

The Hammers have a high number of internationals on their books and Moyes will be desperate for all of them to return unscathed. It’s a unique situation this season and it will be interesting to see the impact it has on the second half of the domestic campaign.
