Blackburn’s PL pursuit major hurdle in West Ham move for Ben Brereton Diaz
The main hurdle for West Ham in their bid to complete a deal for Ben Brereton Diaz is Blackburn’s Premier League pursuit, according to ExWHUemployee.
The reliable Hammers insider claimed on the West Ham Way Patreon last night (at 10:06 pm, 18 January) that the club remain very much keen on the Chilean international striker, 22.
However, with only goal difference currently separating third-placed Rovers from the automatic promotion spots after 21 games in the Championship, selling their main man as they look to return to the top-flight for the first time since 2012 will deal a blow on their chances.

No chance?
Diaz could help fire the Ewood Park outfit up after a decade in the lower divisions, and it is why selling him will be the last thing on their mind right now.
West Ham could do with such a hitman in their bid to finish 2021-22 in the top-four and with silverware, and the fact that his current deal expires in the summer could give them hope.
However, Blackburn have the option to trigger a one-year extension in his contract, and they may be relaxed as a result.
With 20 goals and an assist in 26 league goals so far, such a quality finisher will help improve the Hammers.

David Moyes loves to wait until the closing days of the transfer window before making his transfer moves, but he might have to look elsewhere for a striker as Brereton is all but out of reach.
A loan deal could be available with other targets, and that could appeal to West Ham as opposed to having to break the bank to boost their chances of convincing Blackburn into parting with the South American.
