Bayer Leverkusen want £70m for West Ham-linked Patrik Schick

West Ham are likely to miss out on signing Bayer Leverkusen striker Patrik Schick this month.

According to reports from The Guardian, the Hammers made an inquiry about the 26-year-old striker.

The Bundesliga club have made West Ham aware that the Czech Republic striker is not for sale this month.

Claret and Hugh have provided another update on Schick. They reveal that the club have slapped a price tag of £70m for the striker which means talks have stalled.

Struggling to sign players

Schick has been in spectacular form this season netting 18 goals in the Bundesliga.

However, it looks almost next to impossible to lure him away from the German club this month.

West Ham badly need a striker this month, with the club heavily reliant on Michail Antonio.

The Hammers are reportedly checking out other options, but David Moyes is running out of time to secure deals of the players he wants.

West Ham have been linked with Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin but he is unlikely to move.

The Hammers are also interested in Ben Brereton Diaz from Blackburn Rovers but they need to pay over the odds to sign him.

Sky Sports claimed yesterday that the Hammers are in talks over a deal for Hugo Ekitike but they are also demanding a high transfer fee.

Adding a centre-back is also a priority for Moyes, and it could be a busy last 48 hours for the club.
