Aston Villa to smash club record and sign Tammy Abraham ahead of West Ham – report

Aston Villa are reportedly set to table a £40million bid for West Ham target Tammy Abraham.

According to The Daily Mirror, the West Midlands outfit could shatter their transfer record in order to sign the English striker.

Per reliable insider Ex-West Ham employee, Abraham is David Moyes’ primary transfer target this summer.

West Ham

On the June 1st episode of his West Ham Way podcast, he said, “Tammy Abraham is the one that I believe is Moyes’s number one target.

“The valuations seem to be a little bit out on this, however. Moyes sees him as a £25 million forward and Chelsea see him as a £40 million player.

“He has definitely been told that he can leave now.”

This can’t be good

Aston Villa have been making ambitious moves in the transfer market since last summer and they’re once again amongst the pick of things this time around.

Despite having a striker in Ollie Watkins, who we’d take in a heartbeat at the London Stadium, they’re still looking to add to their options in that department and are willing to break their transfer record no less.

West Ham

We know that if they’re realistically willing to table a bid in that region, we’re all but certain to miss out on the player as we will not be able to afford him at that price.

So far, it’s only The Mirror that has run with this story so we’re hoping that there isn’t more it as it would be a bitter blow to our transfer plans this summer.

If he fits into our price range, our pull of Europa League football can help convince him to join and he would also not have to relocate outside London if he moves to West Ham this summer.

We’re clearly in a better place than Villa so joining us over them would be an absolute no-brainer.
