Arthur Masuaku to return to West Ham United as loan agreement set for termination

Arthur Masuaku will return to West Ham United soon as Besiktas no longer want to continue the initial loan agreement, according to Sabah.

The 29-year-old was shipped out of the London Stadium late in the summer transfer window as David Moyes saw no regular football coming his way in claret and blue this season.

Turkish Super League side Besiktas signed him on loan for the season with an optional future fee should he play a certain number of matches but Senol Gunes has been far from impressed by him so far.

As a result, the Black and Whites are looking to terminate his loan deal six months early in order to free up budget for them to make new signings in January.

The club and the Democratic Republic of Congo player have already met and agreed to go their separate ways as long as Besiktas can come to an agreement with West Ham for the move to happen.

Second chance

Masuaku may have disappointed at Vodafone Park but maybe the dire form of West Ham right now could be his saviour in the Premier League.

Aaron Cresswell has not been anywhere his best form this season and Emerson Palmieri has been a thorough letdown after signing for the club in the summer as the other left-back option.

With Moyes’ job now hanging by a thread, Masuaku may present one last throw of the dice for the Scot and could even be the move that keeps him in the hot seat for a little while longer.

Alternatively, the 29-year-old might end up being sacrificed to the transfer market in an attempt to make room in the Irons’ budget for one or two crucial January additions of their own.

Having failed to make an impact in the Turkish top flight, it is hard to imagine that Masuaku would suddenly become a world-beater in the Premier League but stranger things have happened and all he needs is a chance.
