Arthur Masuaku reacts to Mo Salah penalty incident in 2-1 West Ham defeat

West Ham United lost their unbeaten run in the Premier League on Saturday evening, falling to a 2-1 defeat against Liverpool.

Pablo Fornals gave the Irons the lead at Anfield, but a late Diogo Jota goal saw all three points go the champions in Merseyside.

The game wasn’t without controversy though, with Mohamed Salah facing criticism for his role in winning and scoring a penalty.

Arthur Masuaku was involved in the incident, but Salah made a real meal out of the tackle despite there being minimal contact.

The defender has reacted to the decision though, claiming that he is still angered by his part in the equalising goal.

“Disappointing result after a good start. Still a bit mad at myself for whatever happened but anyway,” he wrote on his personal Twitter account.

That would suggest that it was a penalty, but we think he was angered by even giving Salah the chance to go down.

David Moyes reacted to the incident after the game and even claimed that football has changed dramatically over the years.

It wasn’t just Moyes who was left unhappy with Salah’s theatrics at Anfield, with Alan Shearer claiming it was nowhere near enough to warrant a penalty.

No matter how many people react though, the incident has come and gone and the Hammers must move on quickly to a winnable game with Fulham next week.

It appears that Masuaku has done that, and that is good news given his positive form since returning to the side.
