Arthur Masuaku nears West Ham United exit as club seek replacement

West Ham defender Arthur Masuaku is “nearing” exit, while the Hammers are trying to secure a deal for Filip Kostic, as per Ryan Taylor.

The Daily Express journalist wrote on Twitter on 29 July that Masuaku is in talks with Besiktas to secure a loan move.

The Hammers, however, need to raise their offer to sign Kostic, but they are in talks to reach an agreement over personal terms at the moment.

As it stands, it could be a case of one departing, and another one coming in.

Get it done

Kostic is an ideal signing for the Hammers.

David Moyes is looking for a left-sided player who can play on the wings and also on the left back. Therefore, Kostic fits the bill nicely.

However, their current offer doesn’t meet the valuation of the player, so they need to improve their offer to secure his signature. It’s still within the budget, and the Hammers should be able to pull it off.

Kostic’s arrival will definitely pave the way for Masuaku’s departure, even if it is on loan.

Masuaku failed to make an impact last season, but he is a senior player at the club. He is a good option going forward, but his defence is a bit suspect.

A move to Besiktas would be good for him as he will be able to get regular games in Turkey.

This has been an excellent transfer window for the Hammers, and it could get even better if they manage to land Kostic. Moyes could still look to sign another midfielder before the end of the window.
