Arthur Masuaku in contention to play v Leicester

Arthur Masuaku is reportedly set to be available for West Ham when they take on Leicester City next Monday.

According to Claret and Hugh, the Hammers defender could return to the bench after being out of action since February.

The medical team have been nursing him since he returned to training a few weeks ago, but David Moyes is unlikely to throw him straight into the starting eleven.

Great news

Masuaku has been an exceptional utility player for Moyes and he would certainly be delighted to have him back in the side.

He’s also rated highly by Mark Noble who’s referred to him as “brilliant”. [Official club website]

The 27-year-old could get some minutes under his belt this evening (Monday) as the Under-23s are set to play Arsenal Under-23s at the London Stadium.

We’re hoping that Moyes is in attendance as he’s certainly going to have to call on the player at different junctures this season.

West Ham

Given our commitments in Europe, a deep squad is something that every successful team has and needs and while our summer has been underwhelming, we at least have players like Masuaku to add to our strength in depth.

Our Carabao Cup campaign will begin in a few weeks and he could be handed his first start of the season in the third round fixture.
