Arsenal set to make a deadline day move for West Ham target Takehiro Tomiyasu

West Ham target Takehiro Tomiyasu looks set to join Arsenal today, despite David Moyes having watched him.

Evening Standard reporter Jack Rosser claims on his personal Twitter account, that Moyes has watched the 22-year-old defender but wasn’t convinced, and it appears as if the Gunners have agreed a deal for him instead [Fabrizio Romano].

Tomiyasu was linked with a move to the Irons earlier in the transfer window, but the club decided to go for Kurt Zouma instead as it appears as if Moyes wasn’t convinced.

Are West Ham missing out?

Given that the Hammers have added a 26-year-old centre-back with bags of Premier League experience to their side, you could argue that they really don’t need Tomiyasu.

The 22-year-old has made 61 appearances in Serie A for Bologna, but we think that the Hammers have made the right choice by going for Zouma instead.

West Ham

The Gunners have had a dreadful start to the season, and if Tomiyasu didn’t convince Moyes, then we can’t see how he will help Arsenal out of their predicament.

Either way, the Hammers have had a strong transfer window apart from nit signing a striker, but there is still time for that to change.

In other West Ham news, the club are on the verge of another major signing.
