Arne Slot shares honest Mohammed Kudus admission amid West Ham United exit links
Arne Slot has cast his verdict on Mohammed Kudus ahead of West Ham United against Liverpool amid transfer links with the 24-year-old.
The attacking player has been linked with a move away from the London Stadium in the January transfer window, with Sky Sports Germany journalist Sacha Tavolieri (18 November) reporting that Liverpool are an interested party.
With midfielders Tomas Soucek and Guido Rodriguez unavailable for the Hammers on Sunday (29 December), Kudus could be used in this position by Julen Lopetegui.
When asked about that possibility in his pre-match press conference, the Reds boss was full of praise for Kudus as he said: “I think he’s a good player, that’s for sure. Everybody sees this.
“He can play multiple positions. I think he played here for Ajax against Liverpool as a nine as well. He’s a big threat for them.
“They have many players. I think they have signed also many players during the summer so even if three midfielders are out I don’t think they have to play U21s players, they are still able to play players they brought in for many, many millions.
“That’s the Premier League – they all have, not only us or Chelsea, a lot of clubs have so many good players. Although when I didn’t play my starters, we used our U21 players – that is part of our identity and that’s what makes this club special I think as well.“
Mohammed Kudus from West Ham United to Liverpool?
Kudus has shown he is a player with talent and his three goals and one assist in 13 appearances for the East London outfit this season, highlighting his importance to the side.
However, his good form has also led to him being linked with a move to another Premier League side and, if the Hammers decide to cash in on him, they will be gaining some healthy money to help their prospects going forward as they look to reinvest into the side.
Slot’s comments show that he is clearly a fan of the attacking player and that he may have kept an eye on him with good knowledge of the player and his abilities, suggesting that this is a player that may be wanted by the league leaders in January.

The Hammers will be limited in the midfield areas this weekend, so Kudus will be needed more than ever, but it also gives the player himself the opportunity to show the opposition what he is able to do.
Furthermore, if a sale is sanctioned, it would strengthen the Irons by allowing them to bring in the necessary players to have when their side is lacking, despite Slot suggesting Lopetegui’s side already have plenty of these.
In other West Ham news, Lopetegui’s side are eyeing a move for a Championship midfielder who’s out of contract in June.
