Angelo Ogbonna undergoes Monday scan after injury in West Ham win v Fulham - report

West Ham United defender Angelo Ogbonna was forced off the pitch with an injury during the 1-0 win against Fulham on Saturday.

The Italian was visibly frustrated when being brought off, failing to acknowledge his replacement and storming down the tunnel.

It was claimed after that his reaction was due to Ogbonna worrying over his spot in the Italian side during this upcoming break.

Football London journalist Sam Inkersole has shared an update on Ogbonna on Monday and claimed that we are set to find out more this week.

The 32-year-old has undergone a scan on the groin problem today, with the results set to come in during the next few days.

David Moyes claimed after the game that he and his staff were left worried with their defender, after the nature of the challenge.

The Irons boss claimed that Ogbonna shouldn’t have made that tackle in the end, as it left him open for such injuries.

Ogbonna has been superb this season and has stepped up in recent years.

With Moyes bringing in a new system of five-at-the-back, he needed an experienced head to help play at the heart of that.

The 32-year-old proved his worth massively against Liverpool last week, making nine interceptions and 10 recoveries during the hardest test of the season.

The international break certainly helps his recovery time and the quicker Ogbonna is back, the better.
