Andy Goldstein slams ‘Embarrassing’ West Ham v Fulham footage he saw
Andy Goldstein has slammed Fulham for their “embarrassing” defensive work during Carlos Soler’s opening goal for West Ham in their Premier League win on Tuesday.
The Cottagers were passing the ball around their own penalty box and after a wayward pass from Andreas Pereira ended up at the feet of the PSG loanee, it didn’t take him long to capitalise on the chance.
The game ended 3-1 in the Hammers’ favour with Graham Potter notching his first victory in claret and blue.
Speaking live on talkSPORT (15 January, 16:53pm), Goldstein shared his thoughts on the first goal that Marco Silva’s men conceded.
“The first one [goal] was embarrassing, I get the playing out of the back but play it out of the back when you’ve got space,” he said.
“If someone is on top of you, just smash it, clear it, get rid of it, it’s so obvious, it’s so bad.”
Things could be starting to look up for West Ham United with Graham Potter in charge
Although changing a manager halfway through a season is never an ideal situation, it feels like it could be one of the best moves that David Sullivan has made this season.
It was evident that not only was Julen Lopetegui’s negative play style was turning fans against him but was also making the players look an awful lot worse than they actually were.
Within the Hammers’ ranks, they have plenty of talent across the board but their attack is a particular bright spark.

Granted, Jarrod Bowen is sidelined due to injury at the moment and they’ve not had the best of luck with their number nines this season but the likes of Crysencio Summerville and Mohammed Kudus are both rather industrious.
As Potter has a much more attack-minded style of play, things might start to ger easier for West Ham as the season goes on which, in reality, is all that fans could ask for.
