Amazon Prime and other big name ‘in running to sponsor’ West Ham United kits

Amazon Prime are in the running alongside Foot Locker to become the new West Ham United shirt sponsor, according to Claret and Hugh.

Sean Whetstone reported via the West Ham news outlet [15 January] that Amazon Prime are keen to become the new shirt sponsor at the London Stadium and, if it were to happen, it would likely alleviate some of the Irons’ financial concerns.

Castore are alleged to have won the race to become the Hammers’ new technical partner with the front-of-shirt sponsor still open.

Amazon Prime made a “multi-billion” dollar move in 2024 that massively increased the company’s cash flow [Mexem] and it could be of benefit to the Irons should they become the new sponsors.

West Ham could benefit from Amazon Prime deal

There are many benefits to be had if Amazon Prime are to become the new shirt sponsor of West Ham, with the first coming in the form of revenue.

A current deal with Betway is worth around £60million [Football London] and the deal with Amazon Prime would at the very minimum be expected to match that – and could increase investment opportunities down the line.

Aside from that, fans will presumably welcome the change from a betting sponsor that has come under scrutiny for several seasons now, with the unforgiving exposure to one of the dark sides of the sport.

Of course, the links with such a huge company would also see benefits from a marketing point of view for both the club and its supporters.

There are many benefits to be had for the Hammers if this deal is to happen and, most importantly, it aligns with the regulation changes in England regarding gambling sponsorships.
