Amadou Onana now set for West Ham United transfer after sack decision on David Moyes
West Ham United are reportedly interested in a move for Everton star Amadou Onana and David Moyes’ Goodison Park connections could give the Hammers the upper hand.
According to The Sun’s Alan Nixon (Patreon account, 25 June) West Ham are targeting the Belgium international after failing to land him last summer.
“West Ham boss David Moyes is ready to raid old club Everton to sign midfielder Amadou Onana at the second attempt,” he said.

“Moyes wants powerful Belgian Onana to replace Declan Rice and the Goodison club may be willing to sell for between £40 and £50 million.”
Belgian newspaper Le Soir claimed on 20 June that Everton had slapped a £55million price tag on the 21-year-old, who enjoyed a breakout year in the Premier League.
However, considering the Toffees’ well-documented financial problems, they could be willing to trade at a lower price if needed.

With Moyes now set to remain at the London Stadium until at least next summer (BBC Sport, 12 June) the Scot could have a major role to play in luring Onana to the capital.
Bill Kenwright is set to remain on the Everton board and Moyes could use his connection with the 77-year-old to see the Hammers leap to the front of the queue.
With Arsenal and Chelsea also sniffing around, this is a move the board will have to look to complete quickly before one the Premier League heavyweights gets involved.
When Declan Rice departs the Hammers, the Everton star would be an excellent long-term replacement who could develop further during his time with the club.
