Ally McCoist shares ‘great shame’ on David Moyes after West Ham United news
Ally McCoist has insisted it would be a “great shame” if West Ham ended the season poorly amid a new verdict on David Moyes’ future at the club.
McCoist shared his view that Moyes has earned a great send-off from the fans if he is to leave the club this summer as he stated the fans, players and the boss deserve a strong end to his tenure.
Questions about Moyes’ future have been stirring all season but, with links to Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim beginning to gather pace, his time may be up.
Speaking live on talkSPORT [23 April 08:40], McCoist shared: “Do you know what would be a great shame and I’m afraid I can see it happening with the way West Ham are right now.
“It would be a great shame for David Moyes, the players and the fans if the remaining games just fizzle out until the end of the season.
“My concern for the Hammers at this moment in time is that this season just fizzles out and disappears. I genuinely hope West Ham finish with a little bit of style because I think the fans, David Moyes and the players deserve that.
“There’s no getting away from it, he’s been a great success at West Ham. We don’t know what his future is yet but it looks like he might be leaving. He deserves a great send-off.”
David Moyes future still up in the air at West Ham
The discussion over Moyes’ future at the London Stadium has been raging throughout this season amid the various dips in form the Hammers have gone through, with this most recent one coming at a time when a decision will need to be made.
A 5-2 defeat to Crystal Palace, where it could be argued that the scoreline flattered the Hammers, may have been the straw that broke the camel’s back with regard to Moyes’ position and it is hard to see a way back from here.
Whether Amorim is the man to take over or not, it seems inevitable that the boss will depart in the summer and all parties will move on from what has been a frustrating final season at the London Stadium.

Regardless of the frustrations surrounding Moyes and his position at the club, it cannot be argued that he has done a good job overall since arriving at West Ham, winning silverware and achieving impressive league finishes, and he deserves a strong send-off.
In other West Ham news, Jeff Stelling has urged the board to hire Amorim “immediately”.
