Alex Crook: West Ham United hope move for Arnaut Danjuma can materialise

West Ham United are “hoping” to secure a £40million deal for Villarreal winger Arnaut Danjuma according to talkSPORT journalist Alex Crook.

The Guardian reported on 26 June that David Moyes was targeting the winger with Irons making an approach for the 25-year-old.

It has since been reported by talkSPORT journalist Crook that there is optimism that a deal for the Dutch winger could happen.

West Ham

Crook told GIVEMESPORT on Tuesday 28 June: “Danjuma is certainly someone that West Ham are keen on.

“There’s talk of a £40million, which is double what Bournemouth sold him for and they’ll get a nice percentage of that £20million because they’ve got a sell-on clause.

“I think they’re all hoping that it goes through.”

A lot of money

£40million is a lot for the 25-year-old but ultimately he has performed at Champions League level and scored some big goals on Europe’s biggest stage.

It represents good ambition from the Hammers with Moyes looking to turn his side into regular top-six contenders.

The winger has gained invaluable experience whilst out in Spain and looks to have developed considerably from his Bournemouth days.

With central defender Nayef Aguerd and Alphonse Areola coming through the front door at the London Stadium already, West Ham fans will be eager for a couple of attacking additions to be signed in the coming weeks.

Danjuma would certainly bring some excitement to the London Stadium with the Dutch winger not afraid to take on a defender and try the odd trick.

If the Hammers can pull this signing off it would certainly be a huge statement, with the winger attracting plenty of interest from across Europe.

Let’s hope this one comes to fruition.
