Alan Pardew slams West Ham United ‘uncertainty’ amid David Moyes exit decision

Alan Pardew has slammed the “uncertainty” surrounding David Moyes after Tim Steidten was banned from the West Ham dressing room and training ground.

According to The Guardian [3 May], the Hammers are closing in on the appointment of former Wolves manager Lopetegui, who could be appointed as early as this week.

Moyes has been under considerable pressure this season, and the uncertainty of the Scot’s future at the club has caused a stir, with Steidten beginning the search for a new manager, which has been suggested to filter through to the dressing room.

Speaking live via talkSPORT on Monday (6 May, 6:32am), Pardew said: “I want to give three West Ham results this calendar year – West Ham 0-6 Arsenal, Crystal Palace 5-2 West Ham, Chelsea 5-0 West Ham. Something is not right there.

“The uncertainty that they have caused in the dressing room is undermining the manager. The technical director, who is not allowed in the dressing room, has the job of lining up the next manager.

“But you don’t go for meetings with managers, no. You mark their card and speak to them in case something happens with David. This has gotten through to the dressing room, there’s no doubt about it.

“Players will be very loyal to David. Not all of them but 75 per cent is normal if you’re a popular manager, and I think he is. I think they’re disrespecting him and I don’t like it.”

David Moyes nears West Ham United exit following Chelsea defeat

Moyes looks set to end his West Ham tenure on a sour note as his side suffered a 5-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Monday.

The Scot has been under immense pressure throughout the campaign, and despite having a contract on the table at the London Stadium, it seems highly unlikely that he will remain at the club.

While the Hammers were reasonably successful in the Europa League, reaching the quarter-final before bowing out to Bayer Leverkusen, he is unable to hide from some of the other results this season.

The 5-0 thrashing by Chelsea is just the tip of the iceberg. Since December, they have lost 5-0, 5-1 and 1-0 to Fulham, Liverpool and Bristol City, respectively, as well as the scores that Pardew mentioned.

West Ham United manager David Moyes
David Moyes will be remembered fondly by West Ham supporters.

Fans have been continuously frustrated with Moyes’ defensive style of play, especially when only the bottom three teams have conceded more in the Premier League this season.

With the likes of Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen and Mohammed Kudus, the hope has been that the Irons would be able to open up offensively, though this has not come to fruition.
