Alan Nixon: West Ham United are very active in the transfer market
West Ham United are “very active” in the transfer market despite the lack of incomings at the London Stadium according to The Sun’s Alan Nixon.
The Hammers have added Nayef Aguerd and Alphonse Areola to their ranks so far this summer in what has been a relatively quiet start to the window.
Despite easing into the window, Nixon reiterated that plenty is going on for West Ham on the transfer front behind the scenes.
The Sun journalist replied to a question doubting the Hammers transfer business thus far.
“Think they’re very active as it happens,” said Nixon via his personal Twitter account.
Starting to happen
The Daily Mail (5 July, page 69) has reported that the Hammers are likely to beat Everton to the signing of Jesse Lingard as David Moyes looks to add some attacking depth to his squad.
It feels as if once the Lingard saga has been settled, then Moyes will be able to focus on other areas of his Hammers squad.

The West Ham boss has become somewhat fixated on the 29-year-old with 90min reporting on 28 June that the West Ham boss is “pushing hard” for the former Manchester United man.
Lingard will be an excellent addition for the Hammers, but Moyes must ensure that he doesn’t prioritise the attacking midfielder ahead of other crucial areas of his squad that need addressing.
Signings do need to happen quickly for the Hammers with Moyes looking to make sure that competing for the top-six is a regular occurrence at the London Stadium in the coming years.
Hammers fans will be hoping that the behind-the-scenes work starts to bear fruits in the coming weeks.
