Alan Nixon: West Ham target Eddie Nketiah will decide his future

Alan Nixon of The Sun has suggested on his personal Twitter account that West Ham target Eddie Nketiah will decide his future over his next move.

Earlier this week, the Daily Mail reported that West Ham are still interested in signing the 22-year-old striker.

The “phenomenal” forward scored a hat-trick against Sunderland in the EFL Cup earlier this week, but he is on course to leaving Arsenal, potentially in January.

When Nixon was asked whether Nketiah could leave next month, he replied:

“The lad will decide what he wants to do. [He] can go [for] free and earn fortunes abroad next summer.”

Brilliant signing

A host of clubs including Crystal Palace and Brighton are also vying for his signature.

Nketiah has a contract at Arsenal till the end of the season. He can sign a pre-contract with any foreign club in January and leave on a free transfer in the summer.

Arsenal are keen to keep him at the club, but despite their efforts, Nketiah has yet to pen to papers. He wants to leave the London club, and Nixon suggests the decision now completely rests on him.

Nketiah has impressed in cup games for Arsenal, and has managed three Premier League appearances this season as well for the Gunners.

The Hammers badly need a striker in January, and Nketiah would be a brilliant addition.

He is fast, skilful and a natural finisher. The youngster could be a perfect foil for Michail Antonio, who remains the only striker at West Ham at the moment.

The Gunners could be willing to cash in on him as well in January rather than losing him for free, and West Ham should pounce on that opportunity.
