Alan Irvine agrees new West Ham United contract as reward given
Alan Irvine has been handed a new contract at West Ham after playing an important role in helping the club lift the Europa Conference League last season, according to The Mail on Sunday.
The newspaper reported in its print edition (page 96) on 16 July that the technical advisor has been handed a new one-year deal as a “reward” for his part in the European the success.
The 65-year-old, who has worked with David Moyes for the best part of two decades, scouted the Hammers’ opponents for all 15 of the club’s matches in Europe last season.

It will mean a lot to Moyes to see one of his most-trusted advisors stay on at the London Stadium next season as the club prepares for another European campaign.
After vacating his position as the West Ham manager’s assistant in 2021, Irvine immediately took on the role as technical advisor to continue offering his support to his long-term friend and colleague.
He has clearly done an excellent job since taking on the role after the Hammers reached the Europa League final in 2022 and then went one better by tasting glory in the Europa Conference League last season, with the Scot scouting all of the club’s opponents.

His experience and knowledge of how Moyes wants to play will be crucial once again for the upcoming campaign as he continues his key role behind the scenes.
Hopefully, with his help, the club can have yet another successful showing in Europe next season.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers are set to make an offer for a captain at a Champions League club.
