Alan Hutton reveals personal interaction with West Ham player after Brighton draw
West Ham United midfielder Robert Snodgrass hasn’t always been a spark-plug in east London, but he certainly was last time out.
The 32-year-old found the back of the net twice for David Moyes’ side in their frustrating 3-3 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.
However, both of the Scotsman’s goals came via wicked deflections, even if he did hit them both pretty well.
That’s a fact that certainly wasn’t lost on the veteran’s former Aston Villa teammate Alan Hutton.
“Two deflections, I’ve already told him! He tried to claim them but I didn’t let him get away with it,” he told Football Insider.
“I said I can’t believe you nearly jumped into the crowd, celebrating a deflection. It was all a laugh and a joke, he takes it well.”
Did Snodgrass overdo it?
He was just happy to score two goals that looked at the time like they were going to win the Hammers the game. You can’t blame him for that.
You can see what Hutton’s saying, though. He was ribbing a good friend of his because he went mental about scoring two deflected goals.
The frustrating thing is that, having received those two slices of luck, the Irons still went and threw the game away. That simply wasn’t acceptable.
