Alan Brazil baffled live on air by ‘whinging’ West Ham United fans amid question marks over David Moyes
Alan Brazil doesn’t understand why the “whinging” West Ham fans are still questioning the future of David Moyes after what he’s achieved at the London Stadium.
Speaking on talkSPORT on Wednesday (10 January, 08:44am), the host said he doesn’t get some of the ill-feeling towards the Hammers boss as he asked guest Tony Gale if it’s because the team are “too negative” in home games.
Gale believes that is part of the reason, but he told the supporters to be careful what they wish for as the Scotsman has had some “terrific results” over the past few years and the Irons are in a “nice place” at the moment.

“Still one or two West Ham fans whinging about David Moyes,” said Brazil. “Why is that? I don’t understand it. Is it because even at home they’re maybe a bit too negative?”
“I think that’s the case with the West Ham fans,” said Gale. “Probably they want to see more attractive football, but you can’t argue with the results. I mean, if it was the other way around and they were playing good football and they were down at the bottom, then everybody would be whinging the other way.
“In the last two or three years, Moyes has got some terrific results. They’re in the Europa League, they won the Conference League last season and the results keep coming in. I think it’s just the manner, the way they’ve been nicking it and maybe being a bit defensive that the fans get a bit frustrated.
“But when they talk about replacing him, be careful what you wish for because he’s got them to a nice place at the moment.”
Strange
It’s a bit of a strange scenario for there to be question marks over Moyes as West Ham are through to the knockout rounds of the Europa League and are sixth in the Premier League.
A lot of the fans do appreciate that the results have been excellent lately, but they would like to see some more entertaining football.
Although it’s nearly a month ago now, the 5-1 defeat to Liverpool in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup appears to have stuck with some people after 6,000 fans made the long trip to Merseyside – the week before Christmas – for the Hammers boss to name a side that simply wasn’t good enough to compete.

But that said, the Irons have picked up seven points against Manchester United, Arsenal and Brighton since then before the disappointing 1-1 draw with Bristol City in the FA Cup on Sunday (7 January).
The big test for Moyes now, though, will be to pick his players up as star men Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta look set for a reasonable spell on the sidelines though injury.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers could be set to make an approach for an “unbelievable” forward as his club are now open to a sale.
