Ajax reject £34m plus add-ons bid from West Ham for Mohammed Kudus, want £40m guaranteed

West Ham have seen a second bid for Ajax attacking midfielder Mohammed Kudus knocked back, according to talkSPORT.

The radio station provided an update via Twitter (22 August), reporting that the Hammers’ second offer of £34million plus add-ons was rejected by the Dutch giants.

Ajax are holding out for at least £40million guaranteed in order to sell their 23-year-old Ghana international star.

Frustration

This is slowly becoming a transfer saga that is dragging on and on with supporters likely growing impatient. Just a matter of days now remain in the current transfer window, which has not been short of drama at the London Stadium, and with the Premier League season already underway, Moyes will likely want some clarity.

If Kudus isn’t to be signed, there isn’t much time left for the club to identify an alternative and complete a deal, and fans will be hopeful that they already have replacements lined up in the background, should they see a third approach for Kudus knocked back.

West Ham

Of course, there is no reason that a deal can not still get done, but time is now of the essence and the clock is ticking against officials at the East London club.

It is now or never, and time to pay up if they want to bring the 23-year-old to the Premier League.

In other West Ham news, meetings have been held overnight in the pursuit of another attacking target.
