‘Absolutely hideous’ – These West Ham fans rip into one player v West Brom
West Ham United’s signing of veteran midfielder Carlos Sanchez in 2018 always seemed like a bizarre one, and so it has proved in the following 18 months.
The 33-year-old was past his best when he arrived at the London Stadium, and he’s not got any better in the ensuing year and a half.
That remained the case in the Hammers’ 1-0 FA Cup defeat to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday, where the Colombian international was hauled off at half time.
He was at fault for Conor Townsend’s first half strike for the Baggies, as he got involved in a mix-up with Irons centre back Issa Diop.
However, he also failed to exert any influence on the game, and was entirely unable to serve his role as midfield destroyer. Simply put, he doesn’t have the legs to do that job anymore.
The Hammers supporters were, understandably, rather dissatisfied with the efforts of the veteran midfielder, with one calling him ‘absolutely hideous’.
